Aaron Ramsey central to Arsenal's title charge

Ramsey central to Arsenal title charge.

By Kunle Adegunoye.

Forget Petr Cech and Mezut Ozil, Arsenal needs Aaron Ramsey to stay fit if they are to bring the EPL trophy to North London come May.

An all action display at the middle of the park against City is all you need to rate him head and shoulders above others. With his short, pinpoint and lucid passes, he made the midfield pentumvate of David Silva, fabian Delph, Yaya Toure, Fernandinho and Kevin De bruyne looked short of ideas.

The major concern regarding Ramsey’s suitability for the position is his lack of defensive discipline but here he rarely strayed far from Mathieu Flamini’s side when City were on the prowl and even made the odd crunching tackle, such as one on David
Silva in the 29th minute. When Arsenal had possession, the 24-year-old was willing and able to get forward, surging into the area on the hour to force a fine block from Joe Hart. It
was another more-than-encouraging central display by Ramsey and a reminder to Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla that they face competition for their places once they are back from injury.

Judging from the way he reads the game, ‘I think he is the next Frank Lampard, the next Steven Gerrard. Only that he has to add more goals to his performances.

Petr Cech might be the messiah needed to overcome barca's triumvirate of Messi, Neymar and Suarez but Ramsey's fitness and form will be central to Arsenal title's charge.

From a Liverpool fan who is well pissed at Arsenal's £40,000+1 bid for Luis Suarez
