Princess Diana would have found franca's usefulness impressive

By Kunle Adegunoye

She left an impression on me the moment we walked into Dr Ogunleye's office as I saw the quality of interview questions she had prepared. I had walked into the office thinking random questions about the department and his personality will suffice but was left stupefied with Francesca brilliance and creativity. I did not remember to appreciate her but knew back then that a lot would have gone into putting those good feel wisdoms together.

Beyond definitions real or imagine. Chesca as fondly called is dearly in daring. A pleasant persona of pure inclinations. A passionate actress of many seasons. Unapologetic in her opinions with assuming positivity, Franca epitomises the newest generation of African female song and novel writers (Asa and Chimamanda adichie) using their talents to narrate what they feel strongly about.

Little did we know of her sewing prowess combined with some fabric designs I first thought were children's cartoons. She personified the true prototype of beauty and Brains.

While others were occupied with commitments to domestic relationship, subtle ebbs and flows, Franca exalts herself in short stories that shows boundaries can act as a check, condensing the sprawl of family or student's life into gleaming droplets faceted with the sort of insights that might easily dissolve over the course of a novel. The problem, obviously is just that Franca will leave it undissolve and a novel is not born. Male short story writers are equally alive to her form's usefulness for grappling with these sort of small-scale situations. Just think of Gabriel Akerele – or Kazeem Adeyanju,
for that matter.

Multifaceted, ambidextrous and robust versatility, these are all her major diagnosis and likewise her undoing.

She may not find peace in this journey (since man can only rest in peace after leaving here) but wherever she'll go, she'll find usefulness.

Happy birthday Obadan Fransceca Ifeoluwa.
