Why you need good friends in your life

Image
You definitely do need friends, acquaintances, associates and mentors. You do need good quality of these relationships in your life for wholesomeness in many ways.  We are social beings. Regardless of your temperamental profile, you need a cycle of quality people for wholesomeness. Cut the crap of being an introvert or lone wolf. Most times, people come up with excuses as this when they cannot or don't measure up in what it requires to build relationships. Stop consoling yourself by saying you don't have friends. It is not a badge of honor, wisdom or piety. You need a wholesome cycle of relationships to serve as companion of learning, guidance, encouragement, merrymaking, support, rebuke, correction, collaboration.  Money won't buy you good friends or quality relationships but money can buy you company of people. The most accomplished people in life have a good spectrum of quality relationships.

The 10 Commandments of Logic

Image
Remembering The 10 Commandments of Logic. ------------------------------------------------------ Whenever I come across ignorance on rampage, especially on this blue app, I remember coming across this list 11 years ago. And for those who never entered Phil 101,102,103 classes, this may be helpful. First, ignorance is in itself not a negative connotation. You don't know what you don't know and we are all ignorant in one area or another, and also of some things.  So don't take it to heart if someone says you are ignorant, calm down and ask , of what (or in what), the response may help you calm all the way down. Or even flare up.  As I said, someone sent me this over a decade ago. I swallowed my small pride, framed it in my mind, and studied it day and night. It has been helpful to me by steering me away from needless arguments or debates, and or trending issues. The Ten Commandments of Logic -+++++++++++++++++++++++ 1.Thou shall not attack the person’s character, but the arg

How My Lost Pen Came Back Finding Me

Thus set forth, half chemistry and half teaching work, the problem attracted me. I was reconsidering it that afternoon (it was a Thursday afternoon) as one of the noisy, sooty Sienna buses of Akure lugged me to Jos en-route Abuja. Now it happened that the evening of the same day destiny reserved for me a different and unique gift: the encounter with a woman, young and made of flesh and blood, warm against my side through our overcoats, gay in the misty cold of Rayfield-Jos, patient, wise and sure we were walking down streets still bordered with ruins from the religious crisis of 2012. In a few hours, I felt reborn and replete with new powers, washed clean and cured of tiredness borne from the 12-hours journey, finally ready to enter life with joy and vigor; equally cured was suddenly the world around me, and exorcised the name and face of the woman who had gone down into lower depths to make Jos city a "home away from home" for me. My very writing became a different adventure

Toyin Ndiomu takes LJLA Associates through on what Nourishment of the Brain entails.

It is not a cliché that health is wealth. And for public professionals, this stands all the more true. However, one part of health that isn't often paid attention to is brain health. This is why yesterday, the Class of Pacesetters (COP) were trained on Nourishing the Brain by Mrs Toyin Ndiomu. The training brought eye-opening perspectives to what it takes to nurture the brain in good health. Associates were able to understand better the factors that accelerate and decelerate brain health and how to navigate these for a good, long and healthy life. Leaders must realize the importance of genetics, good diet, good sleep, psychology, hormones, environment, social groups and more on optimizing the quality of their lives. The Class was agog with questions and opinions that showed this was a topic that was much needed for the young leaders.  Were you in class yesterday? What was your major takeaway? #ljlacademy #leadershipskills
