Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy's Associates visit Ikeja Local Government and Lagos Radio.
(1/2) On the 25th of May, Associates of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy paid a learning visit to the Ikeja Corporate Local Government.
As a part of the curriculum, Associates will get to visit various places in order to learn how things work in the system and their various contributions to the success of the State.
The Associates first visited Ikeja Corporate Local Government where they met with key personalities there including Mr Yomi Azeez, Mr Saheed Balogun, Barrister Mrs Iyabo Adewunmi, Mr Michael Ajayi and Mr Olayori Oladapo.
They learnt about the workings of the LG, roles and responsibilities, peculiarities, units/departments and processes processes making things work for their people.
The Vice Chairman welcomed the Associates by sharing some personal stories of his encounters with the legendary Lateef Kayode Jakande in his lifetime. The Head of Administration broke down all the Associates needed to know, also answering all the questions they posed in details.
Associates left the LG with fresh perspective about the relevance of the work they do for the State and its people.
The Lateef Jakande Leadership Associates also visited Radio Lagos/EKO FM on the 25th of May after their visit to the Ikeja Local Government.
This place brought back many memories for most of the Associates as they grew up with parents or grandparents who listened to the radio actively.
There, they met with the leadership team of the Radio including Mr Jide Lawal, Mr Kayode Adumadehin, Mr Yomi Oyemade, Mr Alhaji Lateef Balogun, Engr. Soji Adeoye, Mr Niran Adegoke, Mr Kola Oreniyi, Alhaji Garuba Ahmed and Mrs Biola Williams.
It was a thoroughly enlightening visit as they shared the history, duties, essence, evolution, achievements, diversifications, strategies and more of the Radio. They also gave the Associates a tour to some studios in the establishment where magic is made.
These learning visits were no doubt an eye-opener for the Associates. They were able to learn more about the Public Service, had some of their previously-held wrong opinions debunked and were filled with renewed hope and trust in their capability to make a change in the system.
